“I got a a direct referral from a family member working at the company. I applied to the available role and got a quick interview with the hiring manager. Had another round with a senior developer.”
“Prior to writing your application or your interview take time to understand the mission and the culture of the company you are trying to get a job for. This makes your application much stronger and your interview feel more personal and natural. Having research and questions about the company prepared can highlight your professionalism and your enthusiasm for the position.”
“I was able to reflect on my work experience in a structured way—thinking through what I implemented, what I achieved, and whether I genuinely enjoyed working in industry.”
“Put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Ask your friends and mentors for resume reviews and mock interviews. There are so many opportunities out there that you may feel under-qualified for, but take a risk and apply anyways. You’ll never know what may be unless you try! Also, don’t underestimate the power of follow-ups and professional communication.”
“I would recommend taking the course seriously and using it as an opportunity to reflect on your growth. Document your projects, quantify your impact, and think critically about what you learned. It helps you better articulate your experience in future interviews.”
Be strategic about how you apply. Focus on quality over quantity but also quantity is important due the sheer number of applications per job. Connect with recruiters and professionals on LinkedIn, and try to get referrals whenever possible. Prepare thoroughly for interviews by practicing both technical and behavioral questions (tech stacks, best practices, and AI and LLMs for sure since thats the. hype rn, STAR method for behaviorial). Most importantly, tailor your resume to each role or if not each role at least domain wise (I have 3 resumes – AI/ML, Software, Cloud/Devops).”
“It has given me a wide range of technical and professional skills. On the technical side, I gained experience in software development, AI, and cloud computing. On the professional side, I learned how to present to clients, simplify technical concepts, and pitch products effectively. Most importantly, I developed strong teamwork skills—breaking down complex problems, working through agile sprints, collaborating on tasks, and reporting progress as a team.”
“In computer science and software engineering, success comes down to breaking down complex problems and solving them through code. Developing strong critical thinking skills is essential—understanding architectural trade-offs, implementation scope, and system design decisions. With AI becoming increasingly capable at writing code, it is even more important to understand why a particular tech stack or architecture works for a given scenario and what trade-offs exist. Keep coding consistently—even solving 1–2 problems a day goes a long way in staying sharp for interviews.”
“I used the resume review service. It was very helpful in refining my resume format and structuring it in a way that aligns with what many companies prefer.”
