LAS Career Services helps employers connect with thousands of current Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) students and alumni. All employer services are provided free of charge, with the exception of career fairs. We are happy to meet with you to discuss your recruitment needs by phone, virtual meeting, or in person!

All representatives of employers and organizations that recruit at Iowa State University must abide by the policies outlined on the ISU Career Services Employer Policies & Recommendations page.

Recruiting opportunities

Posting positions to CyHire

Career Services offers a free, online recruiting system, CyHire, which allows employers to post internship and full-time positions for all Iowa State University students to access. Employers can create an organization profile, schedule interviews, advertise on-campus information sessions, and register for career fairs. All professional positions must be posted on CyHire to recruit at Iowa State University in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity.

Go to CyHire

Go to the CyHire website. A desktop computer is preferred.

Register Your Account

From the CyHire Employer homepage, click on “Sign Up for an Account.”
Complete the form and select “Create Account.” If your organization already has an account, the employer name will populate automatically.
You will receive a verification code via email. Please enter this code to confirm your account.

Wait for approval

Your registration will be reviewed within 1-3 business days.

For approved accounts, you can post jobs by selecting the ‘Create Job Posting’ shortcut on the right side of the homepage.
Complete the form and ensure the fields with red asterisks are filled in. Provide as much detail as possible in the description. This is what students will read when deciding to apply.
Select ‘Submit.’

For best results, make sure your job posting clearly outlines the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the role. You can also boost student interest by including details such as providing an overview of your organization, work environment and culture, summary of benefits, or any unique opportunities.

Position postings are promoted to all ISU students and any alum who request access. CyHire makes it easy for job seekers to search for positions. Resumes and other application materials can be collected in CyHire, via email or directed to your organization’s website.

Interview scheduling

CyHire makes it easy to schedule and coordinate both in-person and virtual interviews. Students can be invited to interview directly through their CyHire application.

Information sessions

Building name recognition is important to effective college recruiting. Virtual and in-person information sessions help showcase your organization and highlight available opportunities to students. LAS Career Services will promote your session to students through CyHire, weekly LAS newsletters, and directly to students in relevant disciplines.

Career fairs

Twice a year, in September and February, LAS Career Services co-hosts two career fairs:

People to People Career Fair
Business, Industry, and Technology Career Fair

Numerous career fairs are held on Iowa State University’s campus each year. All students, alumni, and job seekers are welcome to attend. A complete list of upcoming career fairs is found on the centralized Career Services website. Employer registration is found in CyHire.
